One that won’t only bring its readers to a different point of view but would also enlighten them with life lessons that were subtly insinuated in the story. Despite the story being set in an omegaverse, the life lessons that can be noted from the novel can be applied to reality as well. To sum it up, Alpha Predator was a novel of bittersweet love story that made me feel intense angst for both the ML and the MC. Furthermore, the novel underscored the importance of parenting in shaping a child’s growth and worldview the way parents raise their children can have a significant butterfly effect. This is similar to how men and women often misunderstand one another in real life. The story served as a reminder that “Men are from Mars, women are from Venus,” and that it’s not always easy for an alpha to understand an omega, or vice versa. I could barely recognize Qu Moyu and Shen Dai by the end of the novel, but their transformations were so well-executed that it felt like a natural progression. However, the character development for Alpha Predator was truly exceptional. The majority of the novel left me feeling angry and heartbroken. I could empathize with Shen Dai’s reluctance and residual pain. They all felt like rape to me, except for the final one. He was incredibly disrespectful toward “his” omega, and I couldn’t view any of their smut scenes as consensual. I must admit, for most of the novel, I despised Qu Moyu. ![]() Despite the moments of dog blood, I found the novel thoroughly engrossing. ![]() I also enjoyed encountering characters from other 188 novels it was like finding a treasure at the end of the rainbow. THE PREDATOR (Book 1 - Tristan x Morana) THE REAPER (Book 2 - Tristan x Morana) THE EMPEROR (Book 3 - Dante x Amara) THE FINISHER (Book 4 - Alpha x Zephyr). While some of the scenes were a tad over-the-top, I believe the author’s intention was to emphasize just how dire the situation was. It was reminiscent of a Chinese family drama, with members scheming and plotting against one another, each hoping to emerge victorious. □ As expected, the novel was a bit twisted, featuring a veritable crematorium of characters. While I enjoyed that one, I must admit that I found this story even more compelling, perhaps because I have a particular fondness for omegaverse tales. This was the second 188 series novel I read, with the first being Beloved Enemy. ![]()
